Intro & Thesis

A smile is one of the most contagious things that exist in this world. It doesn’t matter where you are; a beautiful smile means the same thing to everyone – everywhere! Unfortunately, those pearly whites require maintenance that many people are unaware of. When teeth aren’t given the proper care that they deserve, gum disease is typically a consequence. Gingivitis and Periodontal disease are two of the most common types of gum diseases that exist among Americans today. In fact, it is hard to believe that 90 percent of America’s population suffers from some type of gum disease!

Great Introduction! Nice start, very attention grabbing. To the point, perfect to me. Good Job! :)

This seems to need a little work, the beginning of this paragraph is good. But I had some trouble figuring out your thesis. It is typically the last sentence in the intro. Yours is a statistic (as well as an attention getter) - you might switch the order around a little.

I agree with Suzanne about the thesis. After reading it I'm not sure exactly what it is you're arguing.

Your introduction sounds really good! Can't wait to read the rest of the paper!
